I really don’t get this “feature.” It’s just another Home Screen with my apps organized far more haphazardly than my own folders. Like Mail goes with banking apps? Google translate, stocks, and kindle all go together? Really? This is supposed to help me?

And yes, I know people will say “just don’t use it,” but that’s not the point. You can turn off Siri, screen time, Touch/Face ID, etc. We should be able to turn this off too.

Agreed. I just don’t see the need for it. I hate duplication.

....and the crazy un-renamable folders it puts stuff in.

They're organised by category and then alphabetical order.

I'd suggest hiding your existing home screens and giving it a shot. I've done that and things are far less cluttered, and now I can use the other home screens for only the apps I always use and/or a Siri smart stack for suggested apps which is pretty accurate.

Everything else is in the app library.

it’s great, means you can clear the apps off your screens and have a cleaner look whilst still having access to them.
I just wish it was available on iPadOS. Completely changes the iPhone :)

Since I have deleted my custom folders and switched to the App Library, its made me realise how much I use the search feature to find an app and how many apps I don't actually use. Takes a while to get used to but I like it.

Gonna go through them all at some point and delete a load

Also the App Library.....You can’t rename the folders. You can’t rearrange the items in the folders. You can’t see what’s in the folder unless you click it.

Nope, not a fan at all. Wish I could turn it off.

But for that surely you’d create folders?
The App Library is pretty much a ‘dumping ground’ for those apps that you rarely use and don’t want on the home pages (but want to keep as they are still useful/needed).

I really like it, much cleaner than before.

However - is there anyway of helping to to organise / rename folders? I don't like the way it does some of the grouping e.g. putting banking apps with email productivity apps - makes no sense? I haven't been able to find any settings to change it?

How can you expand a folder in app library? Because i have more productivity apps then it shows me for example.

I have several delivery apps. UPS, FEDEX, Hermes, DPD etc.
The App Library has scattered these all over the place. Some in “finance”. Some in “social”, even one in “shopping”.

It’s pure hit and miss where they are located and can’t be changed. Madness.

No they cannot be re-grouped or re-named.

If you pull down on the App Library the alphabetical pick list is on the right. Most people are right-handed and hold the phone in their left hand, so the pick list would make more sense on the left so it can easily be reached one handed with your thumb.

I just don’t get the need for the App Library. If it’s just a “dumping ground” for little used apps why not just create a folder called MISC and put the apps in there.

Yes, and you can do that.

However I don't want some apps appearing on my Home Screen so I like that they can be hidden away and automatically grouped with similar apps.

You can easily just ignore it and continue using home screens and folders if you like...

is it me or is it basically android. dont get people saying its cleaner, its ugly, and counter intuitive. I wish you could just turn it off or hide it.

perfection for me would be just to have 2 pages of most used apps and everything else only from the search box. which should be one search box instead of the 3 we have at the minute.

to avoid the App Library ive put one of every big sized widgets on its own page, on pages after my two pages of apps. that way im unlikely to accidentally swipe into App Library, try to swipe out and get alphabetical list and curse.
