Thanks for that. Pretty much proves the 2013 iMac is quite disappointing really. A year is a long time, and it's clear that Apple's focus is not on the iMac at this time.

If you can get a CTO 2012 for a good price, it's well worth saving the money unless you desperately need 802.11ac and pcie storage.

Yeah, its the expandability of the dual drive ports that swayed me for the current model. Also the recent investment in this years A Extreme pushed me to neglect the refurbs.

Research of apple's release cycles had suggested that a more significant performance upgrade is usually every alternate year.
