Apple's App Store, iTunes Store, and Apple TV service are experiencing an outage at the current time, according to Apple's System Status page.

Apple says that some users may be experiencing issues with the App Store and iTunes Store. Apple also says some users may be seeing intermittent issues with Apple TV. The Apple TV Channels feature is down too, and users may be unable to access some services or make purchases.

The services have been having issues since 6:48 p.m. Eastern Time. We'll update this article when the outage resolves.

Update 8:15 p.m. ET: iWork for iCloud, Xcode Cloud, and Apple Maps Traffic are also experiencing issues.

Will Apple offer a subscriber credit to those affected like Verizon recently did

and AT&T did a couple years back?

Or is Apple still hurting for money?

Went to get my Apple Fitness workout in for this evening and it would play maybe a minute of the video and just keep saying "video is not available at this time". Tried a couple others and got the same thing. Guess it must tie into the Apple TV services.

They had no trouble taking my money for a movie rental and starting the 48 hour clock, but they won't actually stream the movie. On the Apple TV, I get the message, "Unable to Play: There's a problem playing this video. The issue is being worked on. Try again later." On the Mac TV app, trying to stream eventually fails silently and closes the window, unless I try to download the movie, in which case I see, "There was a problem downloading 'x'. An internal server error occurred. Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again." The first admits there is a problem; the second tries to blame me and my network, but at least it's polite and remembers to say "please."

If the problem isn't resolved within 48 hours, I guess I'm out $3.99. Collecting service revenue without providing the service is nice work if you can get it.

This is the longest outage I’ve ever seen. I’ve been an AppleTV subscriber since day 1 and I recall maybe one or two other incidents but they were hiccups that were resolved well within the hour. Interesting. I’m on the East Coast.

Worst case you can request a refund online. I’ve never had Apple refuse a refund request for a show / movie. Probably won’t even ask you for an explanation.

How much do you want back?
