I've had it installed for like a decade or so, let me open it...

oh... logged out? Uhm...

...

oh, it's reset my saves and I lost all the upgrades I earned from in-game currency, and now I have to but them again from in-app purchases. Great!

Scam.

It's too bad that your profile doesn't load up on this version. I played the free version so much I had everything unlocked, pretty long runs, etc., and that's not available to me with the + version.
That's a bummer... I was pleasantly surprised when the Alto's Odyssey Lost City offered a way to transfer over my existing progress, and I'd sort of assumed/hoped this one would be the same...

All developers should be treated the same. Why should some get the benefit of the Arcade club and not others. I want it to succeed but it should be open to all developers to join.
Well, any developer can apply, but remember that Apple is the one bankrolling these games, so it has a right to be picky as to what it's going to fund.

For it to be truly open to all developers, Apple would have to rework the entire business model of Apple Arcade to make it more like Google Play Pass, which pays developers solely on the basis of user engagement. However, most of the game developers I've spoken with are quite happy with the way things are now, since Apple is the one taking most of the risk by funding the games up front. This means developers get paid without having to worry about whether their games will become "hits" in the traditional sense.

It's less clear how this business model works for the "classics" that are now being added, although from what I've been hearing, Apple is basically doing the same thing, essentially buying the rights to publish the games on Apple Arcade, in much the same way that it's bought most of the movies that are on Apple TV+.

Of course, there are also a whole lot of developers who want nothing to do with Apple Arcade, since they're already making far more money through their "freemium" titles than Apple would ever be willing to shell out for an Arcade version. It's a nice payout for developers of most of these "classics" however, since those stopped earning any real money through IAPs years ago.

The same thing happened to me. I had everything unlocked, too.
