Those who can't code, code in Flash. Those who can't code in Flash, write web pages. Those who can't write web pages, teach gym classes.

WTF are you talking about? I know plenty of devs who design iphone games whilst propping up their income by selling flash games to the big gaming websites. Without flash coding they wouldn't be able to stay afloat.

:D I've really missed GV Mobile

using Google's web interface to send text messages gets really old quick

spoken like someone who more than never likely coded a thing in their life.

Flash makes something easier but still will require you to have a fairly good understanding of how to program. It does not remove the ability to understand computer logic. You still need to be able to code.

I have look threw some of the basic flash coding tutorials and for the most part I see a lot of very familiar logic and codes I see in Java. The most it seems flash does it is makes it a lot easier to import graphics and adds some other things in. I have not seen it be that different from what looks like visual studies from MS or some other IDE out there. Flash is just another language you can learn.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing ?

I try to browse the apps and games on offer via the iTunes Store, 99% of them are total crud, and that's with Apple's supposedly draconian vetting process.

How do you guys find the apps you need without being snowed under with dross.

Edit: 99% may be an under-estimate.

I don't know. How do people find PC apps when 99.9% of them are crap?

I paid for GV Mobile before it was pulled from the app store... I wonder if I will have to pay for it again?

I bought it on Cydia, I think the developer said he was going to make it free for a day at some point so we can all get it back. I bought GV Connect once it was approved since GV Mobile was not approved yet.
