App Store Doesn't Update after iOS 6 Update

Hello, I have recently updated an iPod iOS 4.5.3 to iOS 6.1.2. The update was successful, but when I went to look at the App Store and iTunes Store it was still the outdated version. May someone inform me on what has happened?
