Hi all, I bought a secondhand MBA 2017 (backwarded with El Capitan) and I have uninstalled bunch of apps from it. However, the App Store keeps requesting update for PDF Guru. When I try updating it, it does not work and states that "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID".
However, I could not even find the PDF Guru on my finder because I have uninstalled it. I have also tried restarted but it keeps popping up. Any guidance to erase this annoying PDF Guru update permanently?
Thank you.

To just resolve the PDF Guru update from nagging...

Find available updates from Terminal:
Code:
softwareupdate --list

Then make MAS ignore PDF Guru:
Code:
sofwareupdate --ignore APPIDENTIFIER
APPIDENTIFIER is the name you see for PDF Guru from the command above without the dash and version number (e.g. without the '-3.0.10'-part). Put APPIDENTIFIERS with blank spaces in double quotes (e.g. softwareupdate --ignore "PDF Guru")

If you ever want to make ignored App updates showing up again, type:
Code:
softwareupdate --reset-ignored

However, it can be that the major problem is that your MBA is still tied to another Apple ID.

Thanks for the reply.

and yes, another apple ID always popped out when I tried clicking update. Then if I change it into my apple ID, the "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID" comes up. Is there anyway to permanently change the apple ID on this mac?

Agree with @Bart Kela to backup, erase and reinstall.
If you bought the Mac from a good friend or relative that you trust, you could ask the previous owner to retroactively disconnect all services related to Apple ID on your Mac. Especially sign out of iCloud, iTunes, iMessages, Mac App Store

Why don't you redownload PDF Guru then delete it? It's free.

Alternately, wipe the drive clean and reinstall a fresh OS. Personally, that's the approach I'd take with a secondhand system.

I could not re-download it as it always only asks for 'update' (I assume, I would be able to re-download after I successfully uninstall it). Thanks for the reply :)
