It’s all a matter of opinion, priority and agenda. Government can create any law they want, doesn’t mean they are good laws, right laws, serve the people or won’t get struck down by SCOTUS.Assuming Japan is like many other countries, the laws regarding dominance in a market (which we have here with the iOS/Android duopoly) combined with anticompetitive behavior (which we have here with the restricting of sideloading, alternative app stores, alternative payment systems, etc.) have existed for a long time. Smartphones, app stores, Apple and Google weren't around 50 years ago but the regulations we’re talking about here fall under classic antitrust legislation. This is about applying age old laws to current markets, technologies, etc.
