Same here since the 8.02 update on iPhone 6 and iPad Air. I have a 1 sitting there on both that will not go away.

Perhaps related to this, while my App store notifications cleared the settings icon has a badge on it that won't go away since updating to 8.02.

I have two iPads, both IOS 8.0.2, with this problem. They both show updates on the App Store icon, but when you open up App Store all is OK, and there are no updates. I have tried rebooting, as well as use the apps, but alas.

Upgrading to Yosemite iTunes 12.0.1 made no difference.
