Hi everyone

finally got my 32gb WiFi + 3G ipad2 ... yay!!

Anyway - logged into my apple id on my ipad for the app store - no problems - download apps fine...

i then synced my ipad today for the first time with my work laptop which was owned by the girl before me who had an apple ID for her work phone - well I synced her apps onto my ipad... of course she had it over a year ago and they all needed updated (11 of them)

I couldn't update them because I don't know her apple id password - so I just deleted all the apps

But the app store icon still keeps coming up with the notifications bubble saying 11.... I've deleted the apps so can't update... so when I enter there's nothing to update...

The bubble goes away after I go into the app store - but wen I go into another app such as mail or calendar and then exit it - i still get the stupid notification bubble to update the 11 apps???

Please help - it's so annoying!!

Thank You in advance - hope someone can help me!

P.S I LOVE MY IPAD2 - thank you to this forum before and after as I've had some good advice about buying it etc...

Open up the App store, and click on Account. Log-in using your Apple ID.
If it comes back log into iTunes, and de-authorize the computer from her account.

They automatically synced with my ipad - I'm not sure how - I opened up iTunes and set up my ipad with it ... (remember this is a work computer - my personal laptop is broke - and a girl had it before me)... I signed into iTunes with my own apple ID - NOT hers!! but it said that there were iPhone apps previously downloaded - now I had an iphone with work when I first started before but got rid of it a few days later... so I thot those were my apps cos I seen sky sports center and facebook and knew I had them so I synced the apps with my ipad...;

but then I tried to update them on my ipad and it automatically asked me for the apple id password - but it was for her email address and not mine - so I'm pretty confused

I wasn't trying to STEAL her apps... of HACK into her account!!

I'm not sure WHY it wanted her apple ID to update the apps - but I logged on to my own Apple ID on iTunes (it was originally uninstalled and I re-installed it last week before I got my ipad).... and they were there....so I'm very confused by the whole thing..

All I want is for the notifications to go away - considering I deleted the apps...so now I'm very confused!

Looks like this has worked killerrobot

I hope it .... I'll see later on after using it for a bit - cos it randomly it stopped and randomly did it again....

I don't think I can de-authorize the computer from her account cos I can't get into her account - infact I don't even think her email is valid anymore cos it's a work one and she hasn't worked with us in well over a year and a half .....

I'll see how it goes but this seems to have worked so far anyway - the first one -just by logging in and out..

thanks
:)

I forgot it asks for the password to de-authorize it. You can however just select to sign-out of the account, then sign in using your account.

I guess it will be up to her to de-authorize the computer from her Apple account.

Hope it all works out. :)

Even if I could get in contact with her to de authorize the account - I'd still have the same problem with this stupid update badge for apps that I've uninstalled.. (albeit apps that I thought were mine but weren't) :(

I hope I get it sorted too :( - terribly irritating...

The best way might be to completely remove iTunes (including all references from the registry, which just uninstalling may or may not do), and reinstall. You need to remove all references to her account from the computer.

I think all you need to do is delete them not only from the iPad but also from the computer.

Yes, I had a similar problem, and this solved it for me. Just make sure when you are in iTunes you are logged into your account.
