I would seem that apple is starting to give itself a bad name with the iphone app approval process. I've submitted an application on Friday August 7th. One week later I get an email saying that my app will undergo an "unexpect exteded review process". You mean to tell me that for every 100$ every app developer is forking over, you can't use it to hire additional people to speed up the review process? I'm paying money here to post my apps, not to have you tell me that my app is undergoing an extended review. And its not like there is anything obscene or detremental about my iphone apps. I'm sorry if I seem like one giant volcano right now. I'm just frustrated, as I'm sure many of you are. Feel free to share your experiences.

    Relax man.

How do you know the problem is because they don't have enough staff? The email you got could be in regards to anything, including the code that you submitted.

I didn't get frustrated until it got rejected. I'm sure a week more wont hurt. I had to wait 5+ Months and when it got rejected because "Its Illegal". When you have waited 5+ months then post here.

Sounds to me like they're using our $100 to pay for actually looking at your app to make sure it's appropriate and stable. Isn't that what you'd expect? Exactly what does this application do, by the way?

It's not like your $100 is going to pay for an entirely new person. There's a line and you're in it. I've heard about people waiting months, so your situation doesn't seem all that bad yet.

This is kind of like complaining about waiting in lines at Disney World "even thought I paid $100 to get in here!"

What, you mean everyone else paid, too? I thought it was just me.

i think the reason for some of the app rejects is that everyone is afraid of the FCC. since the airwaves are public property, no one wants any porn on their products to keep the FCC away.

and second Apple is at a point where MS was in 2000. very successful but past the high growth stage and they need to go on a hiring spree to keep up with demand but they don't want to hire because it's going to impact earnings growth.

i remember back around 2001 MS corporate support was top notch. now you are better off using the internet for most issues. they had to hire so many people that most times you have to teach them how things work. i still talk to a lot of good people from time to time, but a lot less than 10 years ago

    Terrible Application Approval Process

I've submitted an application on August 8th 2009, I still did not get any approval or rejection for my application. A reference description to the application can be found here:

Did anyone else have review periods of their applications which lasted greater than two weeks? This is beginning to become really frustrating.

Relax. While I share your frustration, 2 weeks is not worthy of such obscenity/imagery (see below, from your site). It's certainly not going to help your case if this gets back to Apple.

I've got apps awaiting approval for 6 weeks, and one for 3 months. Get used to it. I have simple updates that took over 3 weeks and one is still waiting.

I'll tell you this... if you have mud wrestling + Sarah Palin + Bill Clinton as one of your screens, as it appears you do, YOUR APP WILL NEVER BE APPROVED.

PLUS YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO RUN CONTESTS AND HAVE PRIZES. So your app will not get approved.

So I share your disappointment, but 2 weeks is not bad and your attitude isn't going to earn you any fans at Apple, and probably not a lot of customers here.
