I was running the dev preview of Yosemite throw the beta process, but then updated the final release when it came out. Now the app store is prompting me to update to the 10.10.1 beta, but I don't want to. Is there any way to remove this update and prevent it from pushing further beta updates to me?

You can opt-out from the App Store panel in System Preferences.

The update wasn't released to the beta program, just to the developer program. (Just as there were both developer previews and betas released separately this summer.)

AppStore update provided me with 10.10.1 this evening, and I am not a developer, but I was (am?) a beta program participant.

Here's another Public Beta user that was prompted to update to the "Pre-Relese Update".

I see the 10.10.1 Beta update, and I was also part of the Public Beta, not the Developer Program.

Heh, same here. I was only in beta, not in dev, but I got the 10.10.1 preview for devs

Should I update to this dev build or should I just opt-out?

Same, PB user on both my MBP and oMP. Haven't tried my oMP yet, but I got the notice on my MBP and went for it! Seems as stable as the last release although no issues with Wi-Fi so far (mine would just drastically slow down until the Wi-Fi was turned off and back on).

    Confused

I'm so confused. I was using the beta. It prompts me to update to beta 2 :(

So I went to the App Store , hit download Yosemite . Then this error message:

We could not complete your purchase.
Osx v10.10 is already installed on this computer. Use the updates page to install 10.10 update or if you would like to download the full OS X installer click continue.

No continue button :( just learn more or ok.

    Thank u for helping.

This is interesting. If you have a machine on 10.9 I'd download the installer there and use Apple's instructions (found here) to install it on a thumb drive.

To me, it sounds like you installed either DP1 or PB1 and never updated. When I went to update from PB6 to PR I just had to click continue to download the file.

If neither one of those works, I'd backup via Time Machine, boot into Internet Recovery (if your Mac shipped with Lion or newer) by holding Command+R at start up. Erase and format your hard drive and reinstall whatever OS it prompts you to (it could be anything from 10.7-10.10 depending on your model). Once you get into the OS, download Yosemite. Note this will take a while to boot over the internet and reinstall over the internet. If you have a another Mac with 10.9 or a 10.9 USB drive, I'd go that route.

Ya I'm not really sure what I did to be completely honest. I haven't used the MacBook Air very much. Actually thought about selling it. I did have Mavericks on it before. Then what I wanted to do was install the beta on a partition. And then choose which system upon boot up. It turned out mavericks was wiped out and beta Yosemite installed. I'm not that technical.

What I'm doing currently is keep updating the betas. And see what happens. Downloading and installing beta 6 I think.

Thanks for replying btw. Much appreciated.

Beta2 had a bug where it would not allow you to download the OS that way. :(

    I got propositioned too

It prompted me to update and I have never been in a beta program and I am running 10.6.8 lol. It was a one time thing and when I look for another update, that is not offered. It makes me think their update offer went to some they did not intend for it to go to?
