The purchased section in App Store says cannot connect to App Store, this has been from the last few days. if I keep clicking it over and over it will eventually load on about the 100th time, its very random. I've tried everything including signing in and out, changing Apple ID etc and reinstalling macOS. Its the same on Sierra and High Sierra.
Is anyone else having trouble? it seems to be somthing at apples end.?

I'm so happy to find this thread - I've the exact same issue but thought it was related to setting up a Mini as it coincided timewise. It's somewhat comforting to know I'm not the only one experiencing this.

I'm using a 2011 iMac with High Sierra and like you guys, it was fine a few days ago. I've also had my purchases appear once in a blue moon only to vanish again if I clicked off to another tab and then back again. I can browse and download apps without any issue and it's authorized to my Apple ID.

I spent an afternoon with various Mac support staff to no avail with caches deleted, a guest user account used, safe booting and finally a recovery boot with a reinstallation of High Sierra being the last step but unfortunately, the issue still persits. Thankfully they also saw my purchase list appear briefly when I was screen sharing with them so they could at least witness the issue.

The only thing I've noticed that may be relevant is that I can successfully view my purchase history via the account information page in iTunes (this doesn't help with redownloading older delisted apps though). My iMac is also absent in the list of "associated" devices for "Downloads and Purchases". I have found no way to re-associate it.

It would be interesting to know if this is similar for you guys too.

I would like to chime in on this - I haven't been able to see my Hidden and Past Downloads in the Mac App Store on macOS Big Sur 11.5.1

It did work a little less than a week ago to my knowledge because I was, at the time, using macOS Mojave and downloading my purchased 32bit games.

"Cannot connect to App Store" is a really unhelpful error.

I have the same issue, on two different machines. I spent 2 hours last night with Apple support, who were insistent that it was a problem with my machines, my internet connection, anything but an Apple-based problem. Utterly infuriating. If I'd wanted this kind of grief, I'd have bought a PC.

I called Apple Support and asked for a little help on this as well.. (Intel Late 2015 iMac) First Safe Boot, Reset SMC, Reset NVRAM, New User with Admin permission and login to iCloud account.. last item the Apple Support wanted me to do was Reinstall macOS from recovery partition.
Nah,, I have a near mint install of macOS 11.5.1 installed just yesterday.. I decided to say a thank you to the support and ended the call. "it's part of the steps to take" - ain't that something.

Also, of course nothing helped.

Not for me. Since Monday I have not seen anything else than that "Cannot Connect to the App Store" whenever I open that "Purchased" tab in the Mac App Store. On ANY Mac where I can boot up macOS High Sierra it is the same sad story.

Not for me. If I search for an App (I just bought last week) then it shows the full price and after the first click it shows "Buy the App" (I did not test to actually buy that app again).

I also spent several hours trying to debug it and even called Apple support. After a while my Ticket was escalated and I got a real pro to support me. After nothing we did has helped - he told me again that I need to Upgrade my System or Apple cannot help me any further on this problem. 😡

This is for iTunes Content only. MAS is another story.
For me it has listed both Mac Pro and my iPhone, but not any of my Mac mini Computers. Exactly the devices where I am using iTunes Content.

@Bertrude
anyway thx for sharing. I just learned sth. new today. 🙂
---edit---
there are other options to check which devices are logged in with your Apple ID:
On that Apple Support document you even can find a section on how-to "Add a device to the list" 😉

Im Sorry for you. 😔
Sadly not all  Support Staff is really qualified to analyse and understand such complex problems. Especially when some Apple Execs have decided (for now) to force (people using Legay Macs) upgrading to officially suported macOS systems.

hmm .. I think this is not really related to the problem discussed on this thread.

I did boot up macOS Big Sur (latest) on the same machine where I have a High Sierra Sytem with that "Purchased tab is offline" problem, AND everything worked as intended on macOS 11.

My purchases history is back! I hope it stays that way and has made a welcome return for you guys too :)

Edit:
24 Hours later, it's gone again :'(
