App Store Quirks

For those of you that still have and/or are sticking with iOS 6.1.3 on a device, are you noticing that:

(A) The App Store often tells you that you have updates, but when you tap the "updates" tab it says that there are none (sometimes with a number badge underneath)?

(B) A lot of apps are getting updates for iOS 7 that render them completely incompatible with 6.1.3 or earlier?

What gives here? Any insight?

I have not had any problems with apps not working with iOS 6 but i have had the app store show phantom updates on my iPad and iPhone running 6.1.3

I've seen the phantom updates as well. iOS 6.1.3 on iPhone and iPad.
