Today I noticed that even after getting the message stating that there's a 100MB limit to download an app over cellular service, I was able to download a 114MB app update.

Interestingly, not long ago the limit was 50MB. Apple has been silently increasing that limit.

It went up to 100 MB as of iOS 7 I believe. The fact that you can still go over it, that seems somewhat new(er).

My iPad Air had an app update a couple of days ago - 214MB - along with two others around 20MB. I tapped Update All and got the 100MB limit message, but all three apps updated. One of my iPhone 5s had an update around 110MB along with a couple of other smaller updates, also chose Update All. Both updated without issue.

I'm still on GFed VZW UL data for both devices, but surprised to see both large updates go through.
