For some reason, I can't find this being discussed anywhere, but it's been happening for me for a long time now. Every time I get a notification from the App Store that app updates are available, the notification that looks like this:

Double-clicking the notification does NOT open the App Store app (let alone the update pane of it), and hovering over the notification and clicking the "Install" button that appears also does nothing.

Am I alone here?

I don't even get a notification. I have to go into App store to check if there are any updates.

It's been mentioned on here previously and it sends there isn't a fix for this.

My App store preferences are set to "automatic updates" so I don't have to worry about it.

So it turns out that it's not just me! It works correctly on my 10.14 system, but like yours it doesn't correctly respond to a click under 12.6.

Yeah, it's only been in Ventura that I've experienced this.

I don't think you can customize that list. Every app on your Mac that has the ability to send notifications should be listed there by default.
That's what I thought. It's really odd!

Would I be able to delete app store and reinstall it?

There's no UI option to delete that app. If there's a way to uninstall it via Terminal and a way to download it without reinstalling macOS, then someone else will have to jump in here to let you know.

Thanks mate. I'll have another look at it today in case I've missed something obvious. Otherwise I'll have to wait and see if anyone can advise a terminal route
