Following the holiday shutdown that saw updates to the App Store and developer access to iTunes Connect temporarily halted in order to provide Apple employees with some time off, things are up and running again, with access to iTunes Connect now available for developers. This means that official App Store sales numbers are now available for the lucrative Christmas weekend.

In addition, application changes (version updates and price changes) are moving through the review process once more, as our sister site AppShopper began picking up new and updated applications appearing in the App Store over the past few hours.

Here comes the shutdown of that camera app that's been getting attention...

Some reform needs to happen here. This is so page 2 material. MacRumors needs to just go to a standard blog format. Something with tags so I can choose what to view and what not to view.

RE: EA Sports Games

I wonder if the EA games will stay 99 cents? Pretty sick decline, considering Madden 11 was 13.99 when it came out I think? Good deal. :D

NO.

The store still worked, just that NO NEW updates were approved.

Actually, no.

Updating out-of-date apps didn't work. My wife got a new iPod Touch - she'd lost her old one months ago. Many of her existing apps were out of date, since she hadn't updated her copies since the old Touch vanished. But while iTunes would tell her that she had (IIRC) 11 out-of-date apps, going to the updates page showed nothing. She had to go to the store page for each app and "buy" each app again (for the free ones only, obviously) for the update to happen.

She held off on the ones she paid for, and now those are updating correctly.

For the record she could've hit buy on the apps that weren't free as well. It would've popped up and said she had "already purchased this content".

come on updates...

A lot of my iphone apps were updated to include ipad optimization (screen size and ipad only features when the ipad first came out). I still have 128 apps that are iphone only and some are long overdue for any update.

Would be nice to see them updated for the ipad, so that they (along with my 90 ipad apps) would function nicely on the ipad. I am one to work with a full screen, and I find myself using my ipad more; and my macbook and iphone less. Especially now that my HappyOwl Case came in.

iphone only used for quick things when doing short trips around town. macbook only used for things I cannot do on the ipad (heavy video editing, podcasting [I use garage band for this as it is free], recording web streams, MS OneNote [MobileNoter will not sync for me and keeps crashing] and mass storage). I purchased Circus Ponies for mac and ipad - but it will be a long time before I really use it. I have 12gb invested in MS OneNote (Man they need to bring that native to the mac).

I can see developers hesitating because the 2nd gen is rumored to be around the corner. But there are apps that will not benefit from a second gen (they don't need a camera or bigger speaker). the only benefit would be more ram, but even that may be unnecessary unless you are doing heavy multi-tasking.

I'm still not getting updates. I had to search for Skype and install it so that I'd get the update. Just did this 5 minutes ago.
