App store updates on public wifi

Hi sorry if this isn't the right thread,

Are there any major risks doing app store updates over public wifi if no username of password is entered in the process.

I'm assuming the app store uses https or whatever the encryption is.

Id much prefer doing them over celular network but......

I do it all the time, everywhere, never had a problem with it. Why do you think, that would be a risk?

People always talk about the security risk when using public wifi, so im just trying to get informed

That reset workaround doesn't seem to be working in 9.3 either

Using Internet Banking on Public Wifi isn't recommended etc but updating Apps is something I've also done without issue.

When updating apps you don't even have to enter your password.
So I wouldn't worry about it.
