I have updates (Aperture and Angry Birds) on my App Store page which I have downloaded and installed. The updates stay on the App Store page and won't go away. No harm done, just a nuisance. How do you get rid of them?

My neighbor is having the same problem. I am starting to believe it may have something to do with multiple accounts. She has gone out of town so I have not been able to test my theory.

This happened to me a year or so ago. There may be a corrupt file in your download queue. I contacted iTunes support, told them which apps this was happening with, and within 24-48 hours, they fixed it and contacted me that it was fixed.

How do you navigate through the FAQ's to be able to send a support request?

you could look inside /Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/AppStore and see if there are any files there. If there are, you should delete them

Problem solved

Got a suggestion on the Apple Forums that external hard drives might be the problem and to disconnect them. My desktop is a Macbook with a 500 GB portable HD and a 1.5 TB backup HD. (I take the 500 with me when I travel with the Macbook.). I shutdown, disconnected the HDs and restarted. The App updates were gone from my dock icon and from the App Store. Don't know why, but that worked. Thanks for all the ideas.

This worked for me!

I had a similar problem, with deleted apps constantly showing up in updates, even after updating them! Most forums said, delete all instances of the app and reinstall (which did not work), other forums said I had a pirated Angry Birds (which I did not).

After giving up for a while, I signed out of the Mac App Store and signed back in, and VOILA, no more updates I've already deleted/updated. I hope this works for everyone else!
