I'm trying to set up FoodNetwork's App on aTV 4th Gen but am stuck on the activate step whereas I haven't had a problem with any of the other apps. Any ideas how to resolve?

I go to FoodNetwork.com/appletv enter in the provider (Playstation Vue), the activation code then after some screens pass by my phone says Activation Successful yet the app doesn't change.

I would try force closing the app on your ATV. Then start it back up and try again. I've had a similar experience with the HGTV app, and the force close seems to work.

Talked to Playstation help desk and they say their service won't work with aTV, or iOS.

wow that is interesting, sad if this is true, I was considering the service, but this is not good. My guess is that they really want you to use your PS3/4.

If its working yon your iPhone thought then they don't know what they are saying though.

They probably misunderstood you.

There is no Apple TV app yet so you can't use the Playstation Vue service (the cloud DVR, programming guide, etc) on the Apple TV. The Vue IOS app blocks AirPlay so, for now, the workaround is to cast the IOS app to a TV which has a Chromecast (which is what I do while I wait for the Apple TV app). Rumors are the Apple TV app should be coming out soon. I'm hoping there is an announcement at the E3 conference next month.

However, your Vue login credentials will give you access to 99% of the Apple TV television apps (including HGTV). I have the HGTV app on my Apple TV and was able to login with my Vue credentials. I'm watching the live feed in the Apple TV app as we speak. I'd try activating again.

You can refer to the following document to see which apps you have access to with your Vue login credentials (E column):
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FipfKvmctFxzX1dWpUxf94wMbmwyXQq6Ym5cRdV5TAc/htmlview?pli=1

As you can see, except for BEIN Sports and Epix, you get access to all of the televison apps which is what sold me on the service. FYI, when activating apps, look for "Playstation Vue" or "Sony Playstation Vue" under providers.

Thanks for suggesting I try again jdillings! I set up a new trial run and then did activations through my desktop rather than from iPhone and I'm up & running.
