Firstly, is it just me that doesn't like the new app switcher? The new carousel effect takes forever to settle down and the huge overlapping of the apps makes switching between them more difficult than it was before. probably something I'll get used to but but right now I prefer the old style.

Secondly, Slideover and Safari. Am I missing something obvious, but if I'm in Safari I can't swipe to go forward a page anymore since that now activates Slideover instead. I've tried different positioning for the start of the swipe but either nothing happens or Slideover fires up. Bug, design or user incompetence? I'll be happy with any conclusive answer

I've found that slide over in safari works best when sliding from the middle. If you want to go forward, slide from the top or bottom of the side.

The App Switcher is somewhat subjective. Personally I like it and it's easier and quicker to use. However I'm also used to it after having been on iOS 9 betas all summer.

To gesture forward in Safari on devices with Slide Over I believe it's slide in from the right bezel a bit and then slide back towards the right bezel. (So left for a bit from the right edge and then right to the right edge)

Thanks for that. Must be my stubby thumbs causing me the problems. Mustn't have been swiping QUITE far enough from the centre edge. I've been on 9.1 and it's been driving me nuts for a while. D'oh!!!

I find the new app switcher problematic, because I sometimes need to quickly peek at content to input in another app – and the new format makes that more difficult, as you can't easily see the entire app window.

Also, the "backwards" scrolling (Windows Phone style) just feels bizarre. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I don't understand the motivation behind the change.

The so called "backwards" scrolling is more ergonomic for right handed users (which is probably most.) Your thumb doesn't block incoming cards as you swipe through them from the top card.

Does slide over work on iPhone 6 Plus? I'm still on 8.

I'm right-handed, but actually hold phone in my left hand; so I guess this new setup is worse for me in that regard as well...

I should have clarified. One handed and in the right hand.

Sounds like this is an advantage of Android's "vertical"-style app switcher... no one's thumb will be blocking anything.

My thoughts exactly. There should be a setting to make the apps not overlap. Its unecessarily cluttered.

Yep, sign me up! I also do hate this new carousel. I used to peak at useful information all the time (ALL THE TIME). Now it is useless! There is a zero reason to mess it up like this.

The fact it is backwards - no problem for me. If only apps were NOT overlapping.

The one that was already there in iOS 8 or 7 would have continued doing just fine for those types of purposes.

Oh, believe me -- I was plenty fine with how it worked before...

I can't get my slider to go any further than a little strip on the right side. I a,so can't get video in picture to work at all. I am working on an ipadAir.
Thank you for any help you can give.
