I believe this has occurred even since the first version of iOS 9, and it still occurs on iOS 9.2 (Build 13C75)

When closing apps out of the app switcher, the last remaining apps will cause the home screen card to start sliding into view. With the closure of one of these, the home screen will move too far, past the middle as you are sliding, but when you let go it snaps back into position. Happens on both my iPhone 6 and iPad mini 2.

Kind of annoying looking. Has anyone else noticed? Please don't turn this into a "You aren't supposed to fully close all your apps, so this isn't even an issue" because yes, it is still an issue. It is instability of the UI, it should be able to handle any input you throw at it. And I usually don't even clear my apps, I just do every few days to just clean it out for my sanity while I'm actually using it, and to quit any potential stuck background processes.

The new iOS 9 app switcher has a lot of areas where it can be improved and where it lacks compared to the iOS 8 and 7 app switcher. It looks "slicker" and all that, and perhaps some actions can be done quicker in some sense, but that's more or less it.

Yeah the new switcher also seems to slow down way too slowly when you scroll through it. Makes it hard to clear out apps when it takes forever to stop moving. While it is moving at all, it's much more likely to take any input as scrolling, not swiping up to close. Kind of annoying. Not only that, but it still stutters quite bad on my mini 2 both when scrolling and going in and out of the switcher. MUCH better than 9.1 but it still definitely suffers. iPhone 6 is pretty okay.

Confirmed... looks tacky as... totally unfinished... And probably won't be improved upon or fixed ...

Yeah that's what's frustrating, all these issues are just everywhere, you report them, and they are never fixed. Or they are half fixed, or they claim there's no issue. Had that happen on a lot of my bug reports, they say the issue has been fixed in this build even though it hasn't changed at all.

Mini 2 performance is absolutely HORRIBLE in this area!!! I wish I could roll my mini 2 back to iOS 8 because it's just absurd how much slower iOS 9 has made the mini 2. On the air 2 however, quite the opposite...the app switcher is incredibly fast, honestly too fast now with 9.3. It's clear they're tweaking it, as you can feel the difference across all devices with each new beta/official release, but I just hope they get it right with the next update...or maybe give us some kind of tactile feedback option under accessibility to slow down/speed up the app switcher. It's really quite comical how fast the slightest finger movement slings the cards around on 9.3 with an air 2. Also comical how disgusting the mini 2 now performs the same task, when it was quite literally fine before iOS 9 rolled along. I don't typically come on here to complain, but the mini 2 has become so slow in all areas even after a fresh install of the latest OS, it's just really disappointing that we can't roll back to iOS 8 which has zero performance issues for this device. Sigh.

There were still issues on iOS 8. App to homescreen lag was something I saw a lot (Leaving an app. This still happens in iOS 9, but maybe not as consistently? Probably placebo but that's what I feel) plus control center over lockscreen/keyboard especially were/are bad, (lockscreen cc is actually better on ios 9 than it was in ios 8) also spotlight keyboard stuttered when popping up in iOS 8. In iOS 9.3, that is fixed. Spotlight is much smoother now on iOS 9.3 than it ever was on iOS 8. App switcher still isn't great on mini 2, but it is MUCH better still than 9.0.x - 9.2, so I am pretty happy. Sliding up apps to close them is perfectly smooth now, scrolling feels a bit smoother too although it is way too fast as you mentioned. Switching apps is perfectly smooth sometimes, but if a keyboard is involved anywhere, forget it. I actually recall seeing issues in the app switcher on iOS 8 when a keyboard was involved in the app you just came from, so that's not a new issue, just a worsened issue.

Definitely want to see the app switcher improve further though, don't get me wrong. It should be 60fps on every device, it's a simple task. That was pretty much the case on EVERY iOS 4-8 device. simply had less taxing effects. I feel like it will happen soon enough. This is only beta 1, there's quite a bit of time for things to improve in this beta. I can *tolerate* my iPad mini 2 now without turning on Reduce Transparency, but I still definitely see issues.

That dreaded "snap" still exists though... :c

the things u guys always notice makes me glad i dont have this kind of ocd :p
You should be lol, it's extremely irritating to see these things all the time I wish I could just not be bothered by this stuff but it is the way it is :c

i don't really know how to describe it, but yeah, scrolling is weird and seems to have changed again in 9.3 for the worse. just a bit unpredictable, too fast at time, something will suddenly snap in one direction when you weren't expecting it too, sometimes quitting apps is interpreted as a sideways scroll. weird

Yes, very annoying UX design right there. Have you tried sending feedback/bug report to Apple?

I have reported the App Switcher "snap" thing lol but I feel it will be ignored as its not overly significant, just annoying looking.

I can't see it. What's happening exactly? Can someone post a video? My iPhone 6 seems to work fine in this area.

I would gladly provide a video but my internet sucks for upload speed (1mbps) and I don't have a public YouTube channel I'm comfortable posting stuff on.
