Hi All,

I am a pilot and I have a need to mark the current time when I make takeoffs and landings. This is something that I frequently forget to do, but if I had an App on the watch that I could just "tap" to save the current time throughout my day it would make it very easy for me to go back and look at the list and I would know which ones were take offs and which were landings.

Then the data would be used at the end of each day to fill out my log sheets and paperwork. Seems like a very simple App. Does anyone know of an Apple Watch App that can do this?

Take a screenshot - hit both buttons simultaneously. Review photos later.

Bonus - if you are using iCloud photos, you will be able to review the times in the camera roll on your phone or Mac, not just on the watch.

Seems to me this could be done with an IFTTT widget - https://ifttt.com/ (and this app even has a watch face complication) which could record times in a Google Sheet (amongst other things) or 'HoursTracker: Hours and Pay' which also has a watch app.

Can I have a free flight?

Sent this to an awesome developer I know. A watch complication that when touched grabs time, date, gps coordinates, speed Etc, and pops up a field for notes by dictation. Saves to phone app log. Why not?

There are a number of diary type apps like Day One that might have a complication. Day One does not. The reason I thought of these is that you can add an entry that automatically records date, time, and location.

Agree that screen cap is one of the best way to do it, and I was just using it to time how long air port train to reach the destination a week ago. (I know there’s Timers on the watch but using screen cap is more convenient, double pressed when get on the train, double pressed when get off, voila!)

Great idea. I can’t find anything that is truly as simple as tapping a complication, although an app called Geospike might work. Can’t tell if it has a complication. There are many options that will start and stop to capture a period of time along with the location and other metrics. Diary apps, work logging apps, exercise apps. Perhaps a habit tracking app would be close. Hiking apps and things like four square as well. I bet an app for remembering where you parked would work.

The problem with screenshots is that you can browse them, but you can’t filter or analyze the information unless you use an app that can filter or export the metadata.
