Basically I want to receive and send text messaging for free on my iphone in airport mode. Is there a way to direct txt messaging sent to my number to some app via Wifi to avoid charges and roaming?

OP wants to direct his texts to an app. Google voice doesn't do that (despite being a great alternative to regular texting).
