One of the most useful features of dropbox for me is that if I save something to my dbox, I can click the menubar icon and be taken straight to the file in finder.

Is there an app that expands this functionality to the computer itself? Take you to the last added file no matter where the folder is?

I just tried putting "All My Files" in the dock, and then set it to "Last Opened" by right-clicking on it there.

The problem seems to be that it can''t successfully index the thousands of files.

It would be better to do this with a smart folder that looks at certain folders.

Otherwise in the Apple logo menu, you have recent items which will show you the last open documents. I wonder if there's something that reads into that? I know some of the alternative Spotlights app will, but I don't think that's what you're looking for.
