I've been using IP Pro and I-Catcher Go to view various IP cameras on my iPhone but I'm struggling to find an App that I can view tradional analogue CCTV footage e.g. Alnet DVR and 16 analogue 540 TVL cameras.

I've tried Supercam which allows you to enter the Staic IP address of the DVR and it's port, username and password as you would for the Alnet Client software but it doesn't seem to work.

    Would anyone have any ideas?

    thanks in avance

I wanted an app that I could watch web cams at the ski resorts I frequent. I ended up going with app: "live cams" i think it was $1.99 it has "thousands" of cams online all over the world... the last update was a great update if you have to search by states etc....

don't know if this gives you an analogue solution you wanted, I know it says you can add cameras.... haven't messed with that part of the app....

i'd give you a direct link but can't get to iTunes from work..... (someone help me out with copy/paste a link, thanks)
just search for "live cams" it's a green icon with a white CCD cam silhouette...

You can't send analog video signals over the Internet, nor is the iPhone capable of displaying them since it has no TV tuner. Analog video would have to be converted to digital video and then served to client software on your iPhone; there is no way to create a client-side solution for digital distribution of analog video.

As for Alnet, I do not believe it has released an iPhone client for its servers.

Thanks for your reply, I know Alnet have been a nightmare in that two years after the launch of the iPhone and still no app.

There must be some other issue as the launched the client software for the Android recently.

I've emailed them a few times and they stated that they have plans to launch in Q4 2009 but stil nothing.

The particular system I am looking to view is a 16 channel analogue system with a Alnet DVR which works perfectly with a Nokia E series when it has the Alnet client software installed.

What I was looking for was an App that would replicate this on an iPhone in terms of entering the static IP address, port, username and password.

Would it be impossible for any other client software other than the ALnet client software to view these cameras this way?

    thanks

    Paul

I agree. Really you would just log onto a DVR of a CCTV system via a browser and watch your cameras. The DVR is converting the analog video to digital video.
