Anyone else have their remote turn to garbage after the latest update? After the latest Update/Security updates: remote is very sluggish ; doesn't scroll properly. Have restarted Apple TV; re-connected the remote and recharged to 100%. Done everything on the Apple Support page. Still very slow and stuttered response. Apple TV HD. Latests software updates. Remote has always remained on table; not been dropped or otherwise damaged. Anyone else seeing this issue? Also, checked per Apple page...not do to Accessibility issues. Thanks for any suggestions. Find it funny in that I just recently placed my order for the new ATV 4K and remote...... 😏

Go into Video and Audio settings and if Chroma is set to 4:4:4 try changing it to 4:2:0 and see if that makes any difference.

Gonzo,
Thanks for the reply but when I tried it again the problem seems to have resolved itself! Wonder if it had anything to do with recharging the remote to 100% and leaving it charging for awhile? Or who knows? Anyway, new box and remote will be here in a few weeks. This could have been a simple software issue. Thanks again......

My Apple TV 4k remote has occasionally become unresponsive and sluggish. Restarting the Apple TV fixes it every time.

Never happens to our two other Apple TV HD remotes.

BTW--I reboot by pressing and holding both the remote Menu and TV/Home buttons simultaneously since navigating with the remote is next to impossible when the issue happens.

Thanks for the response and tips. Remote is back to normal after extended recharge.

Thanks for the response but am back to normal.
I see that. Sorry, I missed your earlier response in the thread about charging the remote fixing the issue. Glad the situation is resolved.

if you hold the menu and volume up buttons instead it will reboot only the remote, most of the time this clears up weirdness for me. sometimes the "volume up" command will also be sent, not a big deal most of the time, but something to be aware of if loud noises are bad in your house.
sometimes you'll also get an on-screen notification about pairing the remote, i normally just ignore those, and it's fine since that remote was previously paired.

You'll also want to make sure the aTV is away from other electronics, or if that's not possible try moving it to a different position. My aTV is between the wall mount and the TV, I'm able to position it anywhere along the entire width of the TV, and there are certain spots where it doesn't work well, and others where it's fine.
