Is there a 3rd party maps/navigation program that would allow me to do planning on my laptop and then export that path to my iPhone or iPad?

Basically, I'm planning a long cross country trip this summer and I'd like to follow specific routes in order to get to certain attractions and stops.

Thoughts?

Ii think you can save the route as a KML file, then view that on the iPhone/iPad. Look this over.

Thanks for the suggestion, but Google Earth doesn't work well as a turn by turn navigation device.

I think, until someone adds Google "My Maps" support to their iOS app, it looks like my best all digital solution is to star the places I want to go in Google and they show up on my Google Maps for iOS app then just select each one sequentially as I'm travelling.
