Apple 12 Silicone Case black line on side

is this normal? There is a black(ish) line/groove going across the side of the case. Not sure if 50 Euro is worth it 🙂 I have the black case also.

My line s on the top, not on the right. It felt a lot like eBay fake china ones tbh. I am definitely replacing this one with the leather one.

Well I am sending it back to apple. For 50 Euros I expect it to be perfect or like the renderings on their website which do not have a grove that is black.
bad quality control this year

My black silicone MagSafe case doesn’t really have that line. It’s so faint it’s basically nonexistent. But I also picked up a Cyprus Green case and it has the same molding seam line as yours all the way around it. The green case also doesn’t quite fit as snuggly as the black case either.

Weird on that side on my black case I don’t see or feel any molding grove but only on the volume rocker side a bit. I returned the green now and will stick with the black.

I have since returned the silicone and gone with the Black leather case (just like every other previous iPhones I have had in the past) - can't find any flaws with it. That being said, the Apple Magsafe leather wallet had a dent on the edge out of the box as well (I was getting crapped on by other users in the other thread for wanting to return it as it is such a "small issue")

Definitely some production sloppiness this year with the accessories.

my green... is similiar to yours... if you look at it different angles... you may see the line... but its not as bad as OP.
