Apple 17" MacBook Pro - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz Notebook MA611LL/A-why so cheap?

this thing is less than 2K at a very popular Mac retailer.

Is it because it has the older ATI video card?

Seems like a great deal.

Any reason not to purchase this machine. is the ATI very problematic with Leo?

Good deal.
Don't forget you have to remember to send in the $150 rebate to get that price.

It is so cheap as it is a gen old and due to the rebate, which most people don't send in.

I have one of those in 15", it's a great machine and you have nothing to worry about :) (I presume it's brand new).

I bought the same machine from MacMall on 11/30 for $2099. Great machine and, other than a complete lack of customer service, everything was fine. Even got bothe rebate checks in 4 weeks. It comes with drop-in disks of Leopard and iLife '08. Highly recommended.

It doesn't have the current gen MBP CPU - and when the penryn MBPs come out, it will be two models removed. Plus the older video. That being said, should still be a very speedy system!
