Hi

I have two Apple 20W chargers for a duplex outlet. They do not fit snugly and my iPhone 13PM and Series 7 Apple Watch periodically loose connection. It might help if the plug was 3-prong, but it is not. My 30 W charger fits better, but then I have to use my existing MagSafe Duo, which does not fast charge.

I could always purchase the Belkin 3-1 boost fast charger, but since I only have two devices, that strikes me as wasteful.

Replace the receptacle, it shouldn't cost more than a few dollars and 10 minutes to replace.

It sounds like the AC duplex outlet is crap. I've got a few of those in my house that are too loose. No doubt the contractor tried to save money and bought cheap crap.

I don't recommend bending the blades on the plug. That usually doesn't work well, and can result in a fire.

Either have someone replace your AC duplex outlet with a better quality model, or try something like this GE 6-Outlet Extender Wall Tap Grounded Adapter. These are easy to install. Just remove the screw from the outer wall plate, plug this in to the duplex outlet, screw in the center screw to keep the adapter in place, and you are all set. I used these on a few bad AC duplex outlets and they work well and they are tight enough to not have loose plug issues. There are plenty of models and brands to choose from, and some even have USB ports too.

Or get a small extension cord (3ft) and really bend the prongs on it to wedge it into your crappy power socket — then plug the iPhone charger into the extension cord. No amount of bending of an extension cord plug’s prongs will remotely create any fire hazard.

Another great and very easy option is to use a surge protector power strip that has the three prong plug, therefore it should stay connected better to the faulty ac duplex outlet. You can even use a UPS (uninterruptible power source) which will maintain power for a few hours during a power failure.

Replace the outlet or don't use it. A loose electrical connection causes higher resistance thus heat. With a charger its likely not that big of a deal but your trying to treat the symptoms rather then address the problem.
