Well, all I know is I trust Apple, I know they are overpriced on a lot of things, and yeah the screen hasn't been updated, but I have a 23 inch, and it's exactly how I like it, I don't want to pay money for something and not be sure I'm going to be happy with it.
So perhaps it's more that I already have a 23 inch, and know that the 30 will be exactly the same, but bigger... Rather than not trusting dell / or anyone else.

The reason I am paying attention to CDM is because I plugged a monitor we got a while ago (21 inch I think) into my Mac, and the white on it was all yellow, compared to the apple screen.
I started getting a headache looking from the apple to the other one, so I took it out.

It's a real shame I can't get another 23 inch! I'd like one of those :p (Do they still have them floating around somewhere???)

I probably won't get a 30" for at least 6 months to 1 year, so hopefully it'll be updated by the time I do:p

Kind Regards

If you mean the styling yeah I can agree with you.

If you mean picture quality you are just fooling yourself (sorry if I am too blunt).

I don't know about picture quality, but style, brightness, just the way everything feels I'm used to it, the cables.. everything :O

As long as my screens match, I'm fine, but I don't want two screens that look different.

Kind Regards

That's why every display needs to be calibrated. None of the Apple displays I've seen have been 100% color correct straight out of the box. They're usually a bit blue tinted.

Since you want another 23", why not just scour eBay or Craigslist for one? Shouldn't be that hard to find.

Unfortunately the 23 inch has been discontinued, I can't find it on eBay, don't know how to work craigslist :O

Thanks though

Kind Regards

Wait, doesn't the DELL have full-sized Display Port?
Sooo.. What's stopping you from getting a MDP -> DP lead? Doesn't it exist?
The 3007 model only had dual link dvi but fortunately Dell does not sell this monitor anymore. This model is succeeded by the 3008 model which has just about any input method you can think of: single/dual link dvi, hdmi, displayport (the full one, no mini), vga, s-video, composite. It even has a 4 port usb hub and a 9-in-2 card reader. The panel it uses is a tad bit better than the one in the 3007 model. The only downside to the 3008 model is it's price (although there are sites like qsix.eu which sell them for a lot less than Dell does!).

You could buy the expensive mDP - dual link DVI adapter from Apple which is prone to some errors. I have one and I don't have problems with it, it sometimes is in dubble vision mode after waking from sleep which I resolve by disconnecting the mDP connector and plugging it back in. No idea if the problem is caused by it being mDP (which has some restrictions as opposed to DP) or because of the conversion (the 3008WFP I have does DP natively so that means the mDP - dual link DVI adapter converts the signal to something DVI-ish which the monitor than converts back to DP). Circuit Assembly sells a mDP -DP cable for something around $15 (without shipping) which seems to work fine with a Dell 3008WFP according to the reviews on their site. That would be a better solution than the dual link DVI adapter from Apple since it's about 5 times cheaper and is not prone to a lot of problems which you may or may not experience (aka YMMV).
