Apologies in advance if this is is the wrong section, I'm new around here.

Got an e-mail from Apple saying an app had been downloaded to an unauthorised device, Band of Heroes:Battle for Kingdoms, a free app, and that the download originated in China.

My first thought was that it was a phising email but I checked my purchase history in Itunes and sure enough there it was.

Changed my Apple ID and password and removed the credit card details and informed my bank to put a block on the card.

Has an online chat with Apple Support who were as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Pointed out that a quick google search showed this wasn't a new problem but they're of the opinion that's it not their problem, surprisingly enough. Also asked how anything could be downloaded to an unauthorised device which got me nowhere.

My question is..whichever evil bastard has hacked my account has only downloaded one free app, albeit with the potential I guess to make in game purchases..why haven't they run wild with apps etc? They've had 12 hours since the initial download and my getting to know about it after work. According to my bank there is only one other charge of £1.58 but they're unsure whether or not it's from Apple. I suspect it's two lots of £0.79.

Apologies for the length of this thing but I'm not impressed with Apple's response as you can probably guess.

No idea why they downloaded only one free game, but if that's all that appears in your purchase history, there probably isn't more.

I'd recommend to activate 2-step authentication for your Apple ID, which goes a long way to prevent things like this. Also, thoroughly scan your computer for keyloggers and other malware, in case that's how they got your password.
