Restored my Mac today from a Time Machine backup (as I have done many times before without issue, this is the first time since I upgraded to sequoia last week) and I can no longer access the "Apple Account" or the iCloud menu's in System Settings. In Activity Monitor Apple Account {System Preferences} shows up as not responding. If I unplug my ethernet/turn off wifi, I can load the page, but obv can't do anything because I am not online. I tried changing my Apple ID password from my phone, it prompted me to update it on my Mac, updated it and I still can't access the page. Clicking it does nothing at all. I have my messages, photos working. iCloud Drive won't load either. I turned off advanced data protection as well to see if that worked but it did not. Anyone else experience this? This might be the first time in 20 years I have to call apple support. I could do a clean install (Never hurts) but would rather not. I do notice processes cloudd, photolibraryd, cloudphotod, mdwrite are eating using over 100% CPU though. Maybe it's a waiting game but it's been 2 hours since restore. Other times everything just works instantly. I install a lot of test stuff and then just restore from Time Machine when I am done playing around with it. (Should probably buy another Mac for that but here I am). I made another local admin account and signed into my iCloud and I was able to access everything normally in sys prefs. It's just on my main account is broken.

Fixed it. Had to go to system settings -> internet accounts -> iCloud -> See All -> iCloud Drive -> Optimize Mac Storage toggle on. That got everything working again.
