List of things Apple is planning that I don't care about:
- Beats Music integration
- Apple Watch
- Apple Watch OS
- iPad Pro

Things that I'm interested in but Apple doesn't seem interested in:
- OS X refinement
- iOS refinement
- iCloud that works
- Intuitive graphical user interfaces
- A desktop Mac without laptop internals that doesn't cost 2500$+
- Better hardware quality control
- iTunes overhaul
- New iPods that aren't an iPhone minus the radio
- First-party Prosumer apps
- ...

Isn't IBM taking care of the prosumer apps? I don't want Apple getting into any new businesses until they polish up what they're working on. I'm a pretty hardcore fanboy, but even I see the recent slips in quality.

It's good to see Apple getting serious about music once again. As iTunes revenue begins to fade, the financial loss grabs Apple's attention faster than any other kind of customer feedback.

Time for Apple to back up their words with action and dust off their creative thinking tools. It would be very refreshing to see them demonstrate a burst of innovation and move to the front again.

Unlikely to happen under Eddie Cue. He's proven himself to be vision-less and always a step or three behind the competition.

I think the slips in quality has more to do with how much bigger Apple is now than just a few years ago. Issues are reported by more people and the media makes a federal case out of non-issues cos anything to do with Apple, especially if it's negative, gets a lot of eyeballs.

I'd like to see someone actually show the number of issues reported after every major software/hardware release going back 10 years. I'd wager that the slips in quality has more to do with perception than reality.

Bummer, man. Guess you could always switch to Android/Windows.

This is why we need Scott Forstall (or an equivalent), especially for iOS stuff. Sure the guy was cocky, and the Maps fiasco was pretty bad, but now you have an OS developed by someone that cares more about hardware and blurs than software optimization and bug fixing. It's all features, features and more features, when half dont even work properly.

Bet we still don't see iTunes Radio/Beats Music/Whatever It Ends Up Being Called in the UK for a least a couple more years! Hmph grumble moan sulk!

Its a cowded space

Seems u can't even search anymore with someone keeping statistics of how many hits a website got...

More great ideas.

I'd feel happier if we all went back to the stone-age and not bothered keeping stats on anything....

But that's just me.

LOL. Apple still doesn't get it. Media has made a definitive shift from music to video. Sadly they continue to focus on music.

As a seller in iTunes this is wonderful news. At the moment I only have access to total sales information. I've basically no idea where those sales come from or which of my promotional methods are successful.

Good stuff.

On the down side although services like spotify are great for consumers I only make $0.0054 to $0.0066 per play from Spotify (after CDBaby takes a small slice), or $0.0021 from Rdio, or $0.01050000 from Deezer. It takes some time to collect enough revenue to be able to record new tracks, or indeed feel motivated to do so.

Tim

get out and play gigs

Fair enough. There can be a larger quantity of issues with the percentage in reference to units sold remains the same. I agree with you on that. I have to say personally though, I have experienced more issues with each new iOS version and now Yosemite than I have with any of my 8 iPhones and 7 Macs.
