If you can't beat them, buy them.
VocalIQ is relatively inconsequential in the realm of speech recognition... Apple probably picked them up for cheap.
If you can't beat them, buy them.
Oh great!... Now I'm going to have to say AL-U-MIN-E-UM instead of Aluminum.![]()
Awesome! I love seeing technology moving forward. Every new step I wonder how we were satisfied with the previous one. lol
I want to like Siri. I don't dislike Siri. I wish I used it more. I just don't. But I always get excited to hear about updates to it.
I find Siri quite useful as it is, nothing to do with having a conversation with your phoneI have no interest in conversations with my phone. I barely have interest in conversation via my phone.
But you kids have a blast.
I'm not sure you read this article.I find Siri quite useful as it is, nothing to do with having a conversation with your phone. Very good for setting timers and alerts. It was quite accurate dictating messages on my Apple Watch too.
It's a strange, useful future.
Now pwll mawr is not a good example as it isn't English at all, it is Welsh. So, it's pronounced just the way it's spelled. Just like "Worcester", "quay", "gaol", and "pwll mawr".

Any idea when Apple bought the company responsible for Siri? Was it a year or two before iPhone 4s ?
Look, we don't care about how you use English, but please stop saying 'we could care less'. The only thing you rule out is that you care nothing, which is exactly what you're trying to convey.
Love, the Queen.
Okay. I withdraw the Welsh and submit "Berkeley". And "cockswain".Now pwll mawr is not a good example as it isn't English at all, it is Welsh.
Anyway, I hope this company will make Siri even better.
Have you tried Siri in iOS 9 yet? She asks to read most answers found on the web to you now. They are all searching the web for answers but the one that answers fastest and most naturally wins.I just want Siri to tighten the gap between Cortana and Google in accordance to queries answered without resorting to a web search.
Hardly the first time.Yay, Apple bought something in the UK for the first time![]()

You do realise that both of those words are pronounced the same identical way. Ps...you missed an 'i' in the way you spelled it. It is spelled aluminIum ;-)
Yes, shame on Apple for paying for Intellectual Property instead of just stealing it and wearing out the other company in endless court battles. Apple simply recognizes they are standing on the shoulders of giants and pays for it.If you can't beat them, buy them.
Pretty sure it's 'we couldn't care less.' Admittedly, many people in the US don't seem to appreciate the difference. Maybe they just don't care.
I'm American but... Helium, Lithium, Beryllium, Sodium, Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium, Scandium, Titanium (etc)... and Aluminum? I'm sorry, but there's just no way Americans are correct with this one.Oh great!... Now I'm going to have to say AL-U-MIN-E-UM instead of Aluminum.![]()
My Siri has feelings too, he doesn't like being called she.Did you just laugh out loud at your own comment?
It, did you just say it. Siri is listening you know. She also has feelings.

Except in the US. Here, it's Aluminum. At least according to the American Chemical Society.
Just sayin'
It's better in some ways, but about the same in most others. Voice AI just isn't really that intelligent yet unfortunately. Maybe this acquisition will change things. Siri has made big improvements since she was first released, but it's not like talking to her is very natural.
thats the same here, but they say what they want"You're going to jail" seems to be a favourite phrase on US TV cops shows. In the UK, that won't happen without a magistrates' court getting involved.
