Physical buttons? Whatever do you mean?

Oh you mean the home button that stops working about 9 months after getting your iPhone 4?

Well, that would suck. But my Touch 1G button never stopped working, had it for over 3 years.

Also: 12 month warranty.

Hints

This is a hint to future iPad, maybe if few generations where there will be no buttons at all. Just screen. This is how apple tries things and makes them work before implementing in another area.

It looks great.

Good to see another Vermonter. I'm in Middlebury.

Cheers!

If I don't hear about the next iPhone 4S/5 or whatever soon.... I'm gonna scream!

EDIT.... I meant I'm waiting to buy the next iPhone! All this iOS teasing is making me antsy!

For the record

...my 95 year old grandma has an iPad and can use it better than a regular computer. This is not a joke.

ok fine, i get it-- apple wants to be accessibly to all. however i always feel like they take it like 15,000 steps too far to make the brainless... well... brainlesser... however you add too many ridiculous options of doing the exact same thing (cough cough F8-F11) you're going to wind up making having to go back to the drawing board and make mission control for iOS.

k fine maybe they DO need to make redundant things to make something smart and awesome like mission control for iOS...

Oh my, muhahahahaha IOS 5 is going to rock so good:p

Oh ipad button we will miss you soon enough. Good ridden that was the only imperfection on my ipad 2, keep pressing it absent minded when I turn it on its side.

Comes on iPhone too.... I have it turned off and it'll sometimes randomly pop itself up. It's terribly placed blocking everything

Consumers' demand is endless.
From what i see, Apple is one major player who really make a real change around here, and i feel they are on track - always on the right direction so far!

edit: Also, by making everything program-base, they reduce physical raw material cost!

Love how people act like options that fall under Accessibility are "features" designed for them to use.

These are for handicapped people who otherwise cannot perform these shortcut functions easily. It's actually poorly designed and looks/works like crap. Not even close to a prime time Apple feature.

Why can't the non-handicapped use the Accessibility features if they find them useful? Is there some sign posted? Am I going to get a ticket?

I thought the people who needed this type of assistance had problems but then I read about these poor people going without widgets. It's terrible.

Do you guys have a charity I could donate to or something?

Haha yeah I want to donate to the widget needers as well. Their plight is serious.

I've had my iPhone 4 replaced twice now, not that hard to take it to the genius bar for a replacement.

My 17-year old son has cerebral palsy. Her uses a wheelchair and has stiffness in his muscles but is intellectually on par with his peers. He has been using Mac laptops since he was 2 years old. I am hoping this feature will be of use to him, as he gets by just fine on his MacBook Pro using just his pinky finger for typing and trackpad use. Multi-finger swipes, pinches, and the like are not gestures he can easily manage.

Great to see Apple is continuing their tradition of assisting those with various obstacles for using computers and their other electronic devices. :D

Great news

My hands are frozen in a half fist so using my finger tips on the iPad is next to impossible for me. My only option is to use a stylus so this should open up new possibilities for myself and others with disabilities. Too bad it took so long.
