Too late

Too late Apple.

I already got sick of swapping batteries on the wireless keyboard. Returned the magic mouse and went back to my wireless mighty mouse.

In my opinion, magic mouse is a serious POS anyway. Two buttons!? Finger gestures on something that moves so easily is a waste. Try pinning the thing down and making gestures at the same time. It's a joke.

Seems to have fixed my problem. I've been at the same battery level for 2 days now. :)

Went to the Genius Bar yesterday to have them look at my KB. Showed them it wasn't pairing with my MBP and that the firmware hadn't been updated.

They were able to apply the update to the KB with one of their computers. After that, I was able to pair it with mine and everything seems to be working fine.

Not sure what went wrong in the first place, but it has been fixed. Now I need to solve a weird Boot Camp issue I am having.

Same here. I did this 3 or 4 days ago and my (2007) keyboards battery level hasn't changed since, which is great (if accurate of course :))

I had to connect with my MBP then type in a password that was provided on my AWK. Connected then proceeded to complete the update. Restart and I was good to go. PM me if you need to...

On attempt #3, I was successful, I used Apple remote desktop instead of remote screen sharing through mobile me to remotely update.

The only other thing I did differently on the third attempt was shut down Software Update as well.

The morale of the tale is...

And that's why I always get wired keyboards. Having said that, my desk is tidy and I don't eat on the sofa, while typing. Apple's numeric wired keyboard is one of the best keyboards on the market, anyway.

The update installed just fine on my 2007 keyboard, but the dumbass updater kept coming back after every reboot and insisted on updating the keyboard again, even though it listed it as "up-to-date". Since it was listed as up to date, it wasn't selectable (and there were no other keyboards connected), but since the updater still wasn't satisfied, clicking "Quit" only postponed the redundant update attempt. I had to remove it manually from the login items.

It wouldn't by any chance involve rampant BSOD's caused by AppleMNT.sys?
