Meanwhile we’re still stuck with plenty of streaming apps not integrated in the TV app.

Either it’s too hard, or companies don’t want to do it because they like to keep control over the interface.

But every TV station now has its own app, so basically we’re now switching between apps instead of channels.

With each apps having its own login system, interface quirks, … not an improvement at all.

La vidéo est réduite à une minuscule fenêtre d'aperçu pour afficher une immense image fixe de l'épisode suivant. Espérons que vous n'ayez pas encore vu cet épisode, car l'image pourrait bien révéler un élément important de l'intrigue.

Try to maximize that postage stamp window to finish, but oh no, it's still postage stamp resolution. Rewind to try to get full res. Nope just shrinks it to that stupid tiny window again.

To return to the credits (or to the continuation of the episode which is not really finished), I press BACK and the video returns to full screen.

Does this genius browse just reveal more spoilers? What were they thinking here?!

To return to the credits (or to the continuation of the episode which is not really finished), I press BACK and the video returns to full screen.

I’ll try that on the tv. Kind of a dangerous game though. They overuse the back button. If I press it at the wrong time it will just exit the whole video and since it’s near the end, that’s it.

Press it once as the credits start to disappear.

Wish we could get rid of all the "adverts" before an episode begins - not even Netflix does this. And no I don't want to skip the main titles. Also let me turn off the recaps.

Why does every MacRumors post have a flood of negative comments or rants? Are people genuinely this unhappy?
Actually…yes we are. How about actually reading and considering the comments instead of grouping them under a rant banner. Given the high prices we pay for their products a bit of critism when due is warranted.

This is not limited to Apple TV, smart TV's are getting this as well. In one of our conference rooms we have a 75" LG TV that got an update yesterday and it was showing similar things using AI to find you new shows to watch. If it is pushed on the Apple TV I will ignore it and hope there is an option to turn it off. This is basically just AI marketing now directly to you, so with all that AI can do the masses are going to get personalized marketing of tv shows and movies. I could see an AI assistant for this type of thing, asking Siri for a type of movie, like I want to watch a World War 2 movie that is super realistic, or is a love story set during WW2. Let me ask the question and get an AI response, don't try and push what to me is essentially ads for movies and shows.

We don't bother to switch Apple users so everybody in the house share the same Apple TV user.

Meaning, suggestions will be useless as the "genius" has to deal with the preferences of the entire family.

But Netflix and other apps force you to pick the proper user when starting the app. That's the way to go. Then suggestions are per-user not per-family.

I continue to be very annoyed that Netflix is excluded from searches etc. Abd all they do is point fingers. They both need to grow up, put on their big boy pants and do what is best for the user experience and ultimately both companies.

It's a forum tradition here, going back 20 years. Ragging on Apple every day of the year sparks joy in their lives. You don't see that on other forums.
It’s because Tim Cook can’t get **** done like Steve could. And hearing Tim talk with the same regurgitated words for every release is excruciating.

Really? You mean getting stuff done propelling Apple to becoming one of the most successful consumer tech companies in the world, with 1+ Billion active/repeat/happy customers who love purchasing Apple products, year after year after year?

Genius? What exactly is brilliant about this feature?
I am afraid, the ApplEnglish Hyperbole dictionary has a new
Grossly exaggerated non-sensical inaccurate unacceptable synonym for the noun "category".

But at least it is shorter than ...

This MIGHT be a big step towards Apple FINALLY starting the process of tearing down the damn silo built around the Mac and the box. IF IF IF we could use this new genius thing on the desktop , find what we like and then simply tell it VIA THE Mac to send it to the box ....this would actually be a great new feature .

A much more fundamental function is "Continuous Audio Connection". I personally turned it off because if it is turned on, the virtual surround will stop working on my setup. This person has a video about the issue here.

Apple TV needs to be its own icon. There needs to be a home icon for what’s up next and smart suggestions all from the apps installed.
