Such a great phone (imo). I remember getting it. So thin and light. It just felt so fresh with the bigger screen and slim factor.

I don’t recall any performance issues with my 6 and iirc it was the 6 Plus that had issues…?

My first iPhone. Switched from android and never went back. It did suffer from a lot of memory restarts, springboard issues. But it has a special place for me. I remember Bendgate though. And that stronger aluminum on the 6S was a selling point for sure. I think the thinness game was over after this.

Huh, mine was great. First iphone that went more than 2 years, kept it all the way to the X.
I still have mine. Use it for phone calls and texts since I bought a refurbished iPad 7 generation. Keeping an eye out for a refurb 11 or 12. Some of my favorite apps no longer work with iOS 12.

RIP iPhone 6 Plus. You were my personal digital assistant for 7 years before iPhone 13 came along and replaced you. You served me well. Unfortunately, there were things you could no longer do: like sync with my Apple Watch or XCode on my 2021 MBP...so it was time for you to retire and collect dust in a drawer somewhere. We had a good thing while it lasted, though. 🥲

I still have my iPhone 6 Space Grey in size 128GB nicely tucked with its iconic all white box. This device was epitome iPhone !!! You just had to be alive at the time.

Ah yes - the 6. Apple really milked the bigger screen when they brought out that phone and basically reused everything else from the 5s. It took another year before they gave it the performance and camera upgrades that truly made the new form factor into a great phone.

Still a solid device I use in house for HomeKit, media consumption, and sometimes as a wireless security camera.

Fresh battery really rejuvenated this device and couldn’t be happier.

Imagine you buy an iPhone 6 in sept. 2018 with iOS 11 and update right away to iOS 12. One year later iOS 13 comes out, but you are stuck with iOS 12 and certain apps not working anymore.

That must have been a real experience…

I got a 6s plus in a its box still but the battery is so toast on that thing, it dies after a couple hours of just being on lol. Still was one of my favourite phones, my first plus size screen phone.

I still have my release day iPhone 6+... I use to stream music wifi while doing yard work and shoveling snow in the winter. Had the battery replaced once.

Holding steady right now with my, 13 mini, 12pro & Ultra... Waiting to see what the iPhone 15 has instore

That phone was a good time. Even though could could bend it by sitting on it … I feel it was one of their better designs. All it needed would be wireless charging !

My Father in Law just upgraded to an iPhone 6 (my wifes old phone) from a basic flip phone, the timing of this is funny. He can't really do much more then answer the phone or call so its the perfect "free" device.

Apple today updated its list of vintage and obsolete products to add the iPhone 6 because it has now been more than five years since the device was last offered for sale. The iPhone 6 has something of a unique launch situation, so the timing of its addition to the list is a little bit off.

The iPhone 6 was released in September 2014 alongside the iPhone 6 Plus. It was sold in 2015 as a lower-cost option following the launch of the iPhone 6s, and then discontinued in 2016 alongside the launch of the iPhone 7. It was reintroduced as a low-cost iPhone in select countries in 2017, and it continued to be sold until September 2018.

The iPhone 6 Plus, the sister phone to the iPhone 6, was added to the vintage list earlier this year.

The ‌iPhone‌ 6 and 6 Plus were notable for being the first devices to offer support for Apple Pay and for marking the first year that Apple offered the ‌iPhone‌ in multiple size options. Apple has continued on with the multi-size release strategy since the ‌iPhone‌ 6 and 6 Plus launch.

The vintage products list features devices that Apple stopped distributing for sale more than five years ago and less than seven years ago. Apple provides service and parts for vintage devices for up to 7 years, or as required by law, but repairs are subject to parts availability.

Obsolete products are products that Apple stopped distributing for sale more than seven years ago. All hardware service is discontinued for obsolete products, with the exception of Mac notebooks eligible for battery-only repair.

In addition to adding the iPhone 6 to the vintage list, Apple has moved the 2012 iPod nano 7 and the fifth-generation iPod touch from the vintage list to the obsolete list, while the 2015 iPod nano models are now listed as vintage. The fourth-generation iPod shuffle from 2012 was moved to the obsolete list, and the 2015 version is now listed as vintage.

Great phone our 6 plus still working perfectly as a hand me down.

Iphone 6 is apple worst iphone 1gb ram and it bends
But it sold Millions apple will sell regardless
Yeah, it’s interesting how, one of the worst iPhone upgrades (the A8 was an overlooked A7, and the RAM was still just 1GB, and also bend gate and still the first gen Touch ID and the camera was just an 8MP like the one in the iPhone 5S) became the best seller of the iPhone. The success of just sticking a bigger screen was ginormous.

By the way, I decided to buy an iPhone 6S (because in my opinion THAT was a truly worthy upgrade), and I found it so BIG that I couldn’t get used to it and returned it. Now I use an iPhone 8 and I think it’s a good size.

I still use the one I spent a week casing around the northwoods of Wi trying to buy & set up for my Grandmother, only to inherit it back from her 3 years later. Now I can never get rid of it, & since it still functions, I won’t buy another phone. And Ai cant even use a phone, bc I need to be able to draw with an accurate stylus. So the 6 will prob be last phone I’ll ever buy.

When it finally grinds to a halt I’ll finally be free from these things.

iPhone 6, probably one of the most controversial iPhone since the iPhone 4. It’s also one of the worst iPhones despite being the best selling ever. It was anemic, the 1GB of RAM was pathetic, and the 6 Plus model was laggy out of the box as the hardware itself couldn’t keep up driving the 1080p panel. And of course, there’s bendgate.

The 6s, in contrast, was the ultimate underdog. It didn’t get much praise due to the same design as the 6, but it turned up being the longest supported iPhone so far thanks to the huge jump in hardware performance (2GB RAM, NVME storage, performance cores).
