It's a window not a hole. They use automotive grade clear vinyl so the Apple logo can be seen when the laptop is in the sleeve. Every single Apple specific case that has some hole in it so you can see the logo owes
the folks at MacCase at least a beer for stealing their original idea that dates back to their original iBook case circa 1998.
