I'll pay someone $50 if I can get my screen replaced with someone else's apple care.
Gotta be in Orange County though![]()
Oh, do they not check serial numbers before doing repairs in Orange County??

Agree you only pay $29 for the screen repair now, but it looks like it does count as one incident of accidental damage:

Zero...This is interesting.
How much would changing a battery under AppleCare plus cost? If it even covers it after y1.
What about people that already have AppleCare+ with an iPhone SE for instance ? Fees went from $69 to $99 ! They can't increase fees mid-contract, it breaks the contract... Right ?

Pretty sure pretty much every Apple Store ever checks the serial numbers. More to the point as they take your information other things may be crossed referenced and they're going to have someone's info on file so not wise to try and cheat the system
They'd have some means for potential repricussions
[doublepost=1473339371][/doublepost]I would assume this apples if you already have Apple care plus for your iPhone 6s Plus. I'm happy with this cost reduction. It's a common repair.
Do you have to have AppleCare to take advantage of the repair of your iPhone 6 if it's under a year old? More than the screen is broken btw. It's also a little bent. TxThey check the serial number to make sure the phone is covered.
Really? In the second year w plus? What about battery percentage to be eligible in that second year?Zero...
As it has always been...
As long as it's not physical damage, then it's covered by AppleCare with no fee
In the second year w plus?Apple never replace battery, they replace device. If your battery doesn't provide specified performance you can get free device replacement.
Lol, yeah I know!
I was trying to say to the original poster: "wow... suggesting pulling a scam in the dumbest way possible; a way that there are clearly safeguards against- ummmm, ok". I just didn't want to be QUITE so cheeky, so I posted it in the form of a question. They did say say were looking for a partner to aide them in their lame idea for a scam; that "lived in Orange County"... I thought that posing the question of "Oh, do they not check serial numbers there?" would lead them to realize (as you and I do), that they do those EVERYWHERE, & perhaps feel a bit sheepish for airing that silly scheme in the 1st place! =P
Does that apply retroactively to Apple Care purchased before today?
Obviously battery is going to get worse on a second year.In the second year w plus?
I know that, is the first year and regular free warranty that comes w the device. You don't need extra warranty to take advantage of the battery serviceObviously battery is going to get worse on a second year.
Your battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 500 complete charge cycles. The one-year warranty includes service coverage for a defective battery. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers a battery service for $79, plus $6.95 shipping, subject to local tax.

I guess if you did less than 500 cycles and it is less than 80%, you can replace it for free.
