Year after year, you wait for “something more” from Apple with these iPhones. At some point, your vigil will inspire a short story or a poem. 😉

Meanwhile, you seem happy enough with your iPhone X. And I know people using even older iPhones. I kept going back to a Pixel 2, myself. So sure, why not wait for iPhone 16?

Not only will it be beneficial to see how the USB C things plays out, but if Apple does use a periscope lens for the first time, it’s not just a matter of introducing new lenses, but also the software to make use of them needs to be just right and there will be the usual things to work out like Samsung had to.
Its just the failing rate of the USB C port on the laptops at work has kinda got me concerned.

Funny, because my Samsung monitor is the worst one I have. I never realized LG has a bad reputation!

Hmm...I have little faith that LG can produce a panel of the same quality as Samsung. No matter what they say, or what the specs, LG will find a way to make it inferior.

Glad I have my 14PM already.

Can't report the same problem. And we use USB-C docks on all of them.
The only problems we have had were software related. (drivers mostly)

Glad I got mine already. LG panels are crap.
Yup.

Have an LG Ultrafine 5K with absolutely horrid image retention issues (and a pink border around the edges).
Supposedly newer revisions of the panel fixed those issues, but I’m skeptical. My monitor is circa 2017.

Had issues with my original rMBP back in 2012 (was a launch-day preorder), subsequent Samsung panels fixed those issues as well.

I bought a 27" LG UltraFine monitor earlier this year. Within a month, it was no longer working. I sent it to LG and they fixed it and sent it back. I don't know if it works because I haven't gotten around to trying it. The LG monitor I had before that one lasted 12 years.

The LG UltraFine had terribly uneven colors and tinting. I should have just returned it when I was in the return period to Best Buy. I got lazy and paid the price.

Oof. I’m lucky as I picked it up for only $300 (eBay bidding).
That being said, the Dell 4K monitor I was using from 2015 still had exceptional image quality. Just wanted a bigger screen…

I believe LG’s woes go back to the Jobs-era Cinema Displays.

LG is #1 company having OLED technologies. They make big excellent OLED for TV, average small OLED for smartphone. Samsung can make excellent small OLED for smartphone, but inferior big OLED for TV. I'm using LG UHD monitor, LG TV, and Samsung smartphone display(yes, iPhone 14 Pro Max). I really loves the LG monitor.

Ouch! I’ve heard people complain about USB-c ports being fragile.

I’ve been lucky with the ports on my Android phones so far. I’ve had a couple of them for at least 4 years now.
