He did a good job working on the 2019 Mac Pro and was great with the Keynote. He and Federighi should do more presentations with more new blood and leave Cook, etc on the sidelines.

Here’s hoping he brings more vision to the Mac.

you mean new blood that needs much more practice (not in front of a live audio audience) making so many mistakes: Mac Mini intro girl.

nah you mean the jumping jack rabbit that introduced the new Monitor. Right.

excitement is great but pushing or forcing it is lame n detrimental.

you’ve seeen more new blood the last 3 keynotes. Many are good some with further potential.

I'm rather amused by the syntax of their various job titles.

Take Katherine Adams - Senior Vice President and General Counsel. That's because she has two job titles, as a SVP and as General Counsel. Same with Luca Maestri - Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He's a SVP and he is the CFO. Not the use of the and to denote two job titles.

Then you have Deirdre O’Brien - Senior Vice President, Retail + People. That's one job titles, as a SVP who is responsible for two areas... for retail and for people. Note the use of the plus to denote two areas.

Then you have Eddy Cue - Senior Vice President, Internet Software and Services. With an and. SVP of Internet Software, and also 'Services'. What services does he provide???

Apple Store Online, App Store storefront and transactions, iMessage, Mac App Store and iTunes (Music, Movies, TV), as well as Apple Music transactions.

he’s been there since Apple went online waaay back.

I think there’s three things here. First, General Counsel is a SVP role so he really only has one function. Second, O’Brien has two distinct SVP roles in Retail and also People (Diversity). Finally, Eddy is overseeing something which is a single role covered by the Internet but has two areas of concern.

Eddie is also the rockstar of Apple but that not a SVP role, yet.

True that. I miss Steve’s presentations. He really knew how to deliver - which is ironic as he wasn’t a people person in real life.

I hoped someone would continue that same level of professionalism (on stage), charisma, humour, etc but Jobs knew how to captivate an audience. You can’t bottle that up and sell it. Cook is incredibly stiff and unnatural - it’s almost as though he’s trying to emulate Jobs instead of being himself and delivering a presentation he feels comfortable with.

Apple needs a “Jobs” type presenter to lead the Keynotes esp as corporate turnover has been so high since 2011 I don’t recognize half of the people they have on stage every year. Federighi is about as close to a solid presenter post-Jobs I can think of - I know he’s OS engineering but I wouldn’t mind him talking the lead from Cook.

Put Lizzo in charge of Apple and be done with it. Like Tim, she has no interest in high speed computing and only has time for lifestyle products. She could appeal to a brand new demographic and at least she'd be dynamic in presentations. Lizzo all the way.

I wish him the best in his new role, but why the “unshaven rolled out of bed look”? Doesn’t want to be portrayed as a corporate suit who earns millions every year?

Like a SVP of (internet software and) services title?
Credit isn't really just a title, it's an acknowledgement of his superb work in that field. Recognition for his craft perhaps, his dedication and the many ways in which he's changed the world.

It's almost as though Retail (Apple Stores) and People (HR) are two entirely separate divisions, whereas Internet Software and Services (iCloud, Apple Music, etc.) is one.
