Just saying, hope anyone that does this doesn't also complain about how bad Siri is.
Why can't we complain how bad Siri is? There are other ways to improve Siri 's voice recognition than violating users privacy. Apple can pay tv/movie studios for video recordings and closed caption text. Have Siri try translating the videos to text and compare with the closed captioning text.

Apple just wants the cheapest way.

At the same time it's also the most realistic one.

Oh they will continue.
I personally don't use Siri (or any other voice assistants, none of them are that reliable anyway) so I welcome what Apple did here.

The cheapest way is also the most realistic way. So win-win.

I want Siri to understand my voice, I could care less if Siri understands a perfect actor/actress voice. And you don't think apple isn't smart enough to craft it's own closed captioned text. if it wants to?

Sheesh.

Does it really delete the source data or does it just delete the users ability to ever access to the data?

this isn't just about transcribing text, this is about how Siri operates. how do you expect a virtual assistant to get better if Apple aren't allowed to see where she's going wrong on a mass scale?

Good, I don't want apple knowing how long all my timers run... and lets be honest, that's all siri is useful for :)

I guess we will have to wait until someone tests this premise, if it is even possible, why do I feel like we will be reading an article in the next few months detailing how Apple is not fully deleting all of your Siri requests.

Just more marketing gobble-gock..

Apple does this on purpose, so they can later add a feature to "opt out" to make users feel like their getting something new.

On the other hand, if Apple never revealed this in the first place, there would be no reason to opt-out of anything.

Can someone clarify this for me,
Does this mean I can finally use Siri without Apple keeping audio records of my voice in their servers? Or is there some legal mumbo jumbo that makes it difficult to understand that they will keep them.

No Apple will keep audio records, until apparently you hit the delete button. Although you can opt out of further review.

so can I opt out in the first place, and they will never store records?

Apparently you can only opt out of human review, not storing the audio. The audio seemingly can be deleted by using the option. This is, IMO, after reading the TOS.

What option, I thought the new option is the prevention of sharing any Siri audio with Apple, if so then you don't need a delete option, we are asking about the sharing option.
