No, Apple store employees have been known to jailbreak their iPhones and even recommend it. They aren't supposed to but how are you going to stop everyone?

Yeah whats funny was last summer while getting my 3G, I asked the employee when he thought a new Macbook would come out.. He said he wasnt sure but i could check out a website with "Rumors about Macs"..... and thats how i found this site.

So No they are not supposed to recommend this stuff, however with all the employees they are generally good people and look out for the customer when possible.

You guys are kidding right? Adding any aftermarket parts to your vehicle voids the warranty at almost all dealerships. Not necessarily the entire warranty, but the one for that respective part of the warranty.

Does the car manufacturer have a disclaimer telling you not to add aftermarket parts to your car? Then its not the same thing
Yes, they do in the warranty. Should an aftermarket part or accessory have an adverse effect on the vehicle leading to somethign else failing, they will not honor your warranty. For example, you install a subwoofer in your car, 6mo later your stereo is not working, the dealer has the right to deny service. Using aftermarket tires on your car and let's say you have an issue with your rotors or rims, they may not honor the warranty for you if they suspect the tires led to the issue.

it is however, slightly ironic for Apple employees to show/recommend jailbreaking to customers. :)
