Can I add an old DL-604 (4 port router) before my apple airport extreme?

I have Fiber Internet so no modem is involved at all. Intenet Wire comes in house as a CAT 5 cable. I want to put the DL-604 just as the fiber comes in my house and then continue out of one port of DL-604 to Apple Airport Extreme. Would this work and/or effect speeds. Currently have 10Mbps up and down.

Yes you can, and no it shouldn't affect your speeds.

Just use AirPort Utility to set up your AEBS in bridge mode (AirPort Utility > Manual Setup > Internet > Internet Connection > Connection Sharing > "Off (Bridge Mode)") and connect one of your router's LAN ports to the AEBS's WAN port.
