This is a big change in their policy. The following app duplicates the mail app functionality while adding more features http://appshopper.com/productivity/ibismail and the following looks similar to the gmail app that was denied a few months ago http://appshopper.com/utilities/gmate-mail-for-gmail
Interesting without a doubt but they are all inferior to Apple's mail app. Why? Because none of the other ones can run in the background and I choose that over landscape any day.
I dunno, the built-in mail app is completely useless to me since it can't auto-sort into folders based on rules, nor can it even create folders without creating them on some computer and syncing, and you can't mark a message read without reading it. If ibismail can do those (and it can), then they've found a customer.
I know that. I have run backgrounder with apps but it doesnt stay running in the background all day, it eventually closes after a while.
