Apple allowing "pre-signing" for fedex package

I know there were a lot of questions on this before pre-order so I thought i'd post on it.

Just got my apple pre order ship info and it includes a link to pre-sign for the package

They did same thing last year for 3GS... I didn't want to risk missing the FedEx person so I filled it out and attached to my door! My luck I would be in the bathroom or shower and my phone would show up!! 😉

This is standard procedure for any Apple product purchased online from the Apple Store.

Thank the lord. I have never signed for anything via FedEx at this house, so I have no idea when he/she would run.

Yup. Even if you order just a USB cable you need to sign. It's kind of a pain actually.

So does this mean that I can go out and tell him to leave it somewhere? I don't really get it. Will he just leave it on the doorstep?

you cant do this in the uk, presumably incase it got stolen? as theres no proof of it arriving i guess?
