Because feature teams work on features, and some of them take a long time. Releases are just the vehicles features ride on.
I wouldn't put too much stock in anything that can be seen in 'visitor logs' though. Changing the User Agent string is trivial, after all.
"Hey Siri, make an appointment based on what is currently on my screen."
I just want this to work. I don't know how many times I'm looking at my screen with all the relevant information for an appointment on it but I still have to manually enter it on my phone. This should be trivial for an AI to read and fill in what is needed to make an appointment. Friggen Siri is so useless.

At this point Apple can sell emoji packs for 50$/each or subscription for “Best genmoji-generated emojis, curated by Apple”🤦♂️

While I’m interested in the concept of a more personalize/aware Sir, I do have quiet (and very light) concerns over how well that will fit into my daily workflow.
For so long, I’ve been trained to think, behave and work in very specific ways when it comes to Siri. It’ll be interesting to see how the great unlearning goes. My hope is it’s so intuitive and useful that I forget we ever had this conversation.

announcing "new emojis" as the first new feature is pure clickbaiting for negative comments.
Apple doesnt control emojis.
They add them as made standard.
Every time we get a string of "can't innovate..." blah blah blah.
can we stop announcing this as a feature?

That's why they hire the best of the best. One wrong pixel in an emoji and. Man. I don't even want to imagine it. It gives me goosebumps.
They are probably already stripping promised features from it.
It is the "Spring 2026" release which always have a longer lead time. They work on this branch for a few months and in between they will branch off of this branch to make .1, .2, and .3.
Can we all agree that sharing posts about emojis is like telling Apple that that's something we care about, while we actually don't give a sh*t about?

If they cared about what we said here, very different product decisions would occur.
I literally got a comment removed here the other day for “announcing” a new emoji.
I wonder if the visitor log is tracking user agent. If it is, it's trivial to adjust the string to mess with the stats lol
I literally came her to say just that. Wtf cares about emojis. Thumbs up, laugh, cry and the turd are all that’s needed!

Disappointed the Apple is only 1-core with just 2 bites of RAM (raw appetite markers). Also, the landslide one is not shown, and still no emojis for earthquake and sinkhole …
